Mathematics Learning Problems



If you trace the history, mathematics has been born since 3000 BC when the ancient Egyptians and Babylonians began using arithmetic, algebra and geometry for the purposes of astronomy, building and construction, taxation and other financial matters. Systematization of mathematics being a science, has occurred in the days of ancient Greece between 600 and 300 BC. Since then mathematics began to grow wider, the interaction of mathematics with other fields such as science and technology are now evident. Now, math has become an essential tool in many ways. Almost every field of science and technology using mathematics. In such a reality, the mastery of mathematics to be a necessary condition in order to maintain existence in the era of the development of science and technology today.

           Learning mathematics formally generally begins in school. Meanwhile, mathematics in schools remains a daunting lesson for the students. Among the various factors that lead to this is the lack of a learning process fun and exciting. Models of learning that are often encountered in mathematics learning is the learning process patterned "teacher centered", ie teacher-centered learning.
